SIGOMA Chair calls for clarity on Household Support Fund allocations

Cllr Sir Stephen Houghton, Chair of the Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities (SIGOMA), said: “It was very welcome that the government announced the extension of the Household Support Fund well in advance of the funding cliff-edge, but councils will want clarity quickly on the level of funding and reassurance that it will match previous allocations. Our members are keen to work with the government to find a long-term solution for welfare support that avoids the yearly uncertainty about funding being continued”.
